Is It Me...or...

....could it be January
....or these faaarrreeeeezing temps
....or maybe it's just pure exhaustion from Christmas and birthdays

I've got tons of pictures, a couple of cool new recipes and a quickie craft project...and no motivation to post it....ugh! The opportunity has come up where I can sell a couple of paintings that I made for Christmas in a local coffee shop, but when I go to paint them...nothing...just a block. Is it because I can't find inspiration or is it that I'm afraid of putting myself out there..what if no one likes it?!? (what a terrifying thought for a people pleaser!)

It feels like I have so much going on in my heart, but no words to adequately express those feelings. 2010?!? Can you believe it? It was just yesterday when we went through all of that y2k garbage! Yet, as I look back it doesn't seem like I am where I thought we would be....or are we ever really where we expected to be?

I don't really do resolutions, but this year I'm making it a goal to really be serious about getting better in tuned with God and his plans for our lives. Who am I and why was I created are on my top lists....to be used in an extraordinary way...that's my resolution!

This morning I got a little quiet time in, which hasn't happened in ForEver! I flipped open my Bible to Psalm 84...it just spoke to my heart! The theme of this Psalm is that God's living presence is our greatest joy. His radiant presence helps us grow in strength, grace, and glory...sounds like exactly where I want to be!

Psalm 84

How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.

Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young-
a place near your altar,
O Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house,
they are ever praising you.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
they make it a place of springs,
the autumn rains also cover it with pools.
They go from strength to strength,
till each appears before God in Zion.

Hear my prayer, O Lord God Almighty;
listen to me, O God of Jacob.
Look upon our shield, O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.

Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.

O Lord Almighty,
blessed is the man who trusts in you.

This is my verse for the year. To spend more time in His courts, finding my strength in him as I walk through my valleys of Baca (baca is Hebrew for weeping....God will give us the strength we need to move from one valley to another as we journey to Him!)

I was laughing at your comment, my kids still say we live in "Picksburgh"! How nice to have some alone time to focus on what is important. Good for you :)

That is a great chapter to set your year to.
